I will be attending a special online event for a great cause on November 6 and I would love for you to join me!

This year, Camp Leo + ConnecT1D, a local nonprofit, will run it's 9th annual fundraiser for programs for children, adults, and families impacted by T1D. I support Camp Leo + ConnecT1D because <why you are passionate about Camp Leo + ConnecT1D/talk about your connection>.

Camp Leo + ConnecT1D really needs the help of the community right now, as they work through all of the challenges presented by the COVID-19 pandemic. It has caused a lot of changes to this year’s programming to help make sure they were able to provide the much needed support and connections that are so vital for those living with T1D. They also anticipate a surge in participation once they are able to meet in person again, so there is a huge need to build up the Camp Scholarship Fund so that no camper is turned away for financial reasons.

Founders Dinner is THE primary fundraising event for the Camp Scholarship Fund. We need your help to make Camp a reality and keep it accessible to all families.

The November 6 online event kicks off at 7 p.m. and will run until 8:30 p.m. You can register at connect1d.org/foundersdinner . An event ticket is $50, or you can select a “Send A Camper to Camp” ticket for $250 to make an advance donation to help our Camp Scholarship Fund. (Or, if you are registering for your group: “Once you have confirmed with me that you can attend, I will register you and you will receive a Zoom link to join the event.”)

I hope you'll join me in supporting what I believe is an incredibly important cause. Thanks in advance for any support you can offer. It is greatly appreciated.

P.S. Did I mention there will be wine? For Founders Dinner this year, guests have an opportunity to participate in either a wine tasting experience or a "camp games" activity.  For those interested in participating in the wine tasting experience, we are excited to be partnering with Northwest Cellars in Kirkland to offer a wine tasting kit with four different wines to sample.  The wines are a white (60% Sauvignon Blanc, 40% Chardonnay), Rosé , Malbec, and Carménère, and the tasting kit consists of four two-ounce pours. It’s $20 per kit and one or more can be ordered during online event registration. (select “Add-On of Wine Tasting Kit” when registering). The wine tasting experience at Founders Dinner will be a lot of fun, and I’d love for you to join me!

Although you cannot attend the event this year, I invite you to join me in spirit with a joyful giving to help ensure that no camper is turned away from any of our programs due to cost. Those who attend our events are given the opportunity to experience an incredibly powerful way to get connected to the Type 1 community and build support and connections that last long beyond Camp, and we need your help to keep it accessible to all campers. We expect a surge in participation in our events once we are able to meet again in person, and so we need to build up our Scholorship Fund so we are ready to serve everyone with a need.
