Building a Type 1 Community

Because we all need people who get it.

Type 1 United! We are thrilled to share that we have chosen a new name for ourorganization: Type 1 United! While we will no longer be known as Camp Leo +ConnecT1D, our program names will not change. ConnecT1D Family Camp and Adult Retreat (and Camp Leo Summer Camp) are here to stay! Click here to read our announcement: Type 1 United

Introducing our new Executive Director: Madi Johnson!

Madi has been volunteering with Camp Leo + ConnecT1D for more than four years and has more than five years of nonprofit leadership experience. As Type 1 United’s executive director, Madi brings a passion for connecting T1D community members in all stages in life. “I am excited to expand our reach so every person with type one diabetes in Washington state and the PNW has the opportunity to have a community that inspires them and that gets them. I see a future where doctors and educators are prescribing our events to people with type 1 diabetes. To families, kids and adults who are experiencing diabetes burnout, because sharing success, challenges and laughs with your community may just be the second best medicine."
